I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding a few weeks ago. Over the last couple of years I have not been doing weddings as often as I use to. I always miss them. There is just something so wonderful about being the person to capture all the memories for the couple. The wedding was at The Pines At Genesee. It is a great location I have worked there a few times. Wedding just make me happy, really! Enjoy.

Gabby and I, well and her parents, had a fun afternoon at the Chatfield Botanic Gardens in Littleton for her photography session this year.  She is 3.5.  I have a 3.5 year old daughter as well.  We have had a session each year.  I love getting to watch her grow

I can not even begin to tell you how many times I get asked for clothing ideas….then I e-mail and tell all my ideas over and over again!  So while I could not sleep the other night I made some visual outfit ideas!  So fun..now I want to go shopping.  Matchy Matchy is OUT and COLOR is in!  It makes it fun to try to match everyone but much trickier.

I usually suggest picking 1-2 people to dress in a print or pattern using several colors.  Then match the other people’s clothing to the color in the print keeping their clothing solid.  Finally accessorize!  Add fun bows, belts, scarves and hats to finish the look.  When you are finished picking all the outfit for your family put them all out together and if they look like you could wear them all together as one outfit they will look great in the picture.

Some things to think about:

1. Keep all the outfits in the same season…if everyone is in pants and sweaters don’t have one person in short sleeve and flip flops.

2. Shoes are important, especially in family pictures.  Most often black or brown shoes are best, you want them to blend into the background.  Crocs and flip flops never look good.  Babies that do not walk are best without shoes or in socks if cold.

3.  If you are planning to hang a large portrait in your home keep in mind the room colors when selecting your clothing.

I am so excited to announce the arrival of new holiday card designs.  My lab is offering new designer shapes…they are so awesome!  Lucky for me Sarah, my card designer, went right to work make new designs to fit the new shapes.  I get so excited when I have new items to offer my clients.

With the arrival of the new designs I reworked my card ordering process…it should be WAY easier now.  I also got rid of the design fee, YAY!  The new cards are slightly more than the traditional shaped cards, but so worth it.  Click here to view all designs. Jack is 1!  Jack and his big brother James visited me in studio the other day.  Our main goal was getting pictures of Jack but he was not in the mood so we took some of James, he did great.  Somehow we managed to get one of them together.  Then after a snack break Jack was ready for his turn!  I am going to miss these guys.

Here is Abby again.  I have been photographing her since she was a newborn.  She just turned 1!  I first met her parents when I photographed their wedding a few years ago.  This summer I will be photographing her Aunt wedding.  I just love when I get to keep working with families over the years.  Anyhow here’s Abby

Over the past couple of years I have cut back on the number of weddings that I do each year…I just can’t do weddings AND portraits and have enough time to schedule everyone.  So for the most part my weddings are referrals, which I love.  Here is a stroy for you.  Back in 2006 I met Jennifer to photography her maternity pictures..I then continued to photography her twins for their whole first year.

Fast forward to 2008 Jennifer’s Sister Kelly is pregnant and I have the pleasure of photographing her son for his whole first year.

Now in 2010 Kelly’s best friend Toni is getting married…guess who gets to be the wedding photographer, ME!  Seriously I love my clients!  I get so excited to see them again.  Plus it is the best feeling to have them recommend me, I LOVE THEM!!

Back to the matter at hand, Steven and Toni’s wedding!  Their wedding was perfect.  They selected Willow Ridge Manor in Morrison, CO.  The location had awesome views of the red rock in the background.  It was a perfect Colorado sunny summer day!  They were surrounded by friends and family.  The best part, for me, was that I was the one there to capture all the memories for them!  So sit back and enjoy their wonderful wedding slideshow.

I could not sleep last night, darn head ache.  While I tried to sleep I decided it was time to offer a holiday special.  Last year I offered mini-sessions (with an awesome response).  It was great to book so many clients on the same day however I could not help but feel like I was rushed and not able to give full attention to each family.  So this year I decided to heck with it I am offering FULL sessions at a MINI session price!  Yes you heard that right FULL sessions!  I can’t believe it either.
